Spring Break Happenings

Good morning! It has been a minute since I have had time to post! I am still researching family history in my spare time. I signed up for ancestry.com and finding verification for some of the information I already had. Plus, lots of new information!

So the boys and I stayed at the farm the majority of spring break. We were able to clean up several areas , this was nice! We are hoping to get granny’s house cleaned out and then make needed repairs. The original part is in bad shape, no one had lived there for years. It’s a work in progress. We also got our farm sign ordered and picked up just this week! Excited to get it up.

Midway though break the boys and I traveled to Hot Springs and Little Rock to visit family, we had a great time. With the rain that came in that Friday we decided not to make the trip back to the farm. It was a good decision on our part!

The rain came hard, the Richland Creek came up fast! Mom and dad we thought were tucked in safely at the farm, staying out of danger. That thought ended when we received pictures of them doing a high water rescue. For pictures you can look at the facebook farm page Richland Valley Family Farms. Their dad was on the tractor with a person hooking up their truck (waist high water) to his tractor so he could pull them out. To say the least, I was not happy with this. Yes, I am glad the person is safe but they should have known better then to try and make it down the road. Not sure if they have gotten their truck out of the road or not!

That saying “turn around, don’t drown” does hold some meaning! Be safe!

I will be back soon with more family history and stories!

Until then- love Cassie

They have done nothing with their truck. Still sitting in the road. We sure enjoyed Perch,Minner and you staying here on the farm a few day.
